We currently have 39 adult syrian hamsters (1st October 2009), several golden hamsters and various other colour mutations including black, silver grey, chocolate, cream, blonde and tortoiseshell with a variety of patterned coats.  Several of the goldens carry no other mutated colour gene, while the other hamsters carry dark grey, white, cinnamon and black.  Our future plans are to propagate and continue each of these mutations by out-crossing to the golden line.   There is one other hamster in the household which came with no pre-thought whatsoever.
